Earlier stuff 1

As I've started this at the back end of the growing season, I thought I'd try and do some Archives from memory to sort of give a more complete picture.

So firtsly here are a few foto's from last year which show some of the Dahlia's that I grew. in no particular order.

These four were all bred by Mr Tom McLelland who live the other side of Nuneaton to me. Tom's major love is minature cactus/semi cactus dahlia's and these are his best 4 so far in my opinion 9not that that is worth much) & if you intend to show these under NDS rules, they shouldn't exceed 4" in diameter so they are truly little gems.

Weston Spanish Dancer.

Weston Miss

Weston Pirate (this doesn't do it justice)

Finally, Weston Nugget

And whilst they don't last in water like Chrysanths, you can cut a vase of flowers about ever 3 -4 days of 1 or 2 each of these. They are wellsuited to the garden border as well being small, they don't suffer with the weather like th bigger ones.

Love the photos of dahlias, Nick. My dad was a keen shower of dahlias in the 1970s and so I've always had a soft spot for them.
